Hey Folks Father’s Day

– Mrs. John B. Dodd first proposed the idea of a “father’s day” in 1909. She wanted a special day to honor her father William Smart, a Civil War veteran who raised six children single-handedly. – In 1924, President Calvin Coolidge supported the idea of Father’s Day, but it was not official until 1966 when President Lyndon Johnson officially declared the third Sunday in June as national Father’s Day.
