A 31-year-old man got out of his stalled car on the side of the Long Island Expressway on Saturday when he was struck by an oncoming car.
At the time, the victim was in critical condition, according to police.
He was hit on the westbound expressway at exit 29 at 8:15 p.m. The driver, a 65-year-old male, stayed at the scene after the crash, police said.
