Continuing to rebuild from the damage left by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder and his staff recently teamed up with Friends of Rockaway to help one homeowner on the peninsula finish repairs and make a full recovery. During their visit earlier this month, Goldfeder and his staff worked with Friends of Rockaway to prepare and install the insulation on the first floor of the family’s home. As noted, Friends of Rockaway was created in the days following Hurricane Sandy by local volunteers to help residents remove mold from their storm-damaged homes and has evolved into a full, nonprofit group servicing contractors to help homeowners rebuild.
