Killed In Accident On Snowy Street

Walking across a busy intersection during slick conditions proved fatal for a woman who was struck by a turning bus on the Elmhurst/Jackson Heights border Monday afternoon, Feb. 3, police reported.

The NYPD identified the victim as Martha Tibillin-Guamug, 25, of Valentine Avenue in the Bronx.

Reportedly, the accident occurred at about 5:55 p.m. at the intersection of 74th Street and Broadway, adjacent to the 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue subway station.

According to information obtained by police, Tibillin-Guamug was was crossing Broadway eastbound when she was hit by a Q53 bus as it turned right from Roosevelt Avenue onto Broadway.

The bus driver stopped the vehicle and remained at the scene following the accident, authorities said .

Members of the 110th Precinct responded to the location along with EMS units. Paramedics pronounced Tibillin-Guamug dead at the scene.

No criminality is suspected, according to police. The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad is continuing its investigation.
