Maspeth Employee Busted For Sex Acts

Police cuffed an aide at a Maspeth school last Thursday, Mar. 20, accused of having sexual relations with a 14-yearold boy, law enforcement sources announced.

Clara Somodi, 39, of Woodside-assigned to P.S. 9-was booked on second-degree charges of rape and criminal sexual act for allegedly having the illicit relationship with the teenage student.

Following her arrest, the Department of Education reportedly suspended Somodi without pay pending further action.

According to information provided by the Queens District Attorney’s office, Somodi and the student allegedly had sexual contact off-campus on numerous occasions dating back to Dec. 1, 2013.

Detectives determined the most recent encounter occurred last Tuesday, Mar. 18, at an unidentified location, authorities noted.

According to the criminal complaint, detectives learned from an eyewitness that Somodi and the teenager were observed kissing on more than one occasion.

Parents of the teenager contacted police last week after learning of the alleged tryst.

Following an investigation by the NYPD Queens Special Victims Squad, Somodi was taken into custody last Thursday morning by Det. Ivy Dror for the alleged affair. The aide was additionally booked for endangering the welfare of a child.

According to court records, Queens Criminal Court Judge John Zoll ordered Somodi held on $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash during an arraignment hearing last Friday, Mar. 21. The defendant is scheduled to return to court on Apr. 14.
