Cops Make Discoveries In LIC & Howard Beach

The Ides of March proved deadly for two females whose bodies were found by police at locations in Long Island City and Howard Beach last Saturday morning, Mar. 15, it was reported.

First, law enforcement agents found Judy Soo Hoo, 51, of 46th Street in Astoria floating in the East River off the intersection of 47th Road and Center Boulevard at about 10:12 a.m.

Members of the 108th Precinct responded to the scene along with EMS paramedics, who pronounced Hoo dead. Her body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Authorities said there were no apparent signs of trauma on her body.

Less than 90 minutes after the Long Island City discovery, it was reported, police were called to the Surfside 3 Motel on Cross Bay Boulevard in Howard Beach after a teenage girl from Forest Hills was found unconscious in a room.

Upon arriving at the hotel at about 11:24 a.m., 106th Precinct officers and EMS units located the victim, identified as Moe Sakurai, 17, of Union Turnpike.

Paramedics pronounced Sakurai dead and also brought her body to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Both cases remain under investigation, police said.
