Officer charged with DWI after Glendale collision: DA

GLENDALE — An off-duty police officer was arrested and charged with DWI in Glendale early last Saturday morning after he allegedly rear-ended another vehicle, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Felix Deleon, 34, was driving a 2000 gray Acura at the intersection of Cypress Hills Street and Cooper Avenue at around 5:40 a.m., when he allegedly hit another car, according to a criminal complaint filed by the DA’s office.

Deleon then allegedly drove off, but was caught eight blocks away by a responding officer, the complaint said.

The off-duty cop allegedly refused to take a Breathalyzer test and admitted to police he “had a couple of drinks earlier,” according to the complaint.

He was charged with a DWI and for leaving the scene of the accident, police said.
