Walking the Way of the Cross

Marking the most solemn day on the Christian calendar, faithful residents marched from St. Pancras Church in Glendale to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Ridgewood during the annual Good Friday procession on Apr. 18. The march was sponsored by the Associazione Cattolica Italiana Miraculous Medal di Ridgewood as well as eight Catholic churches in Ridgewood, Glendale, Middle Village and Brooklyn and related organizations. Among the participants was Bishop Nicholas Di Marzio (not pictured), who celebrated Mass prior to the procession. The faithful are shown walking along Central Avenue in Glendale, leading a glass coffin with a statue of Jesus Christ, who-according to scripture- was crucified on Good Friday and resurrected from the dead on Easter Sunday.
