Rep. Nydia Velázquez served as a special guest as Ridgewood Savings Bank presented personal finance and savings lessons to students at I.S. 77 in Ridgewood on April 24. At the invitation of Principal Joseph Miller, Velasquez and bank employees addressed more than 400 students at the Seneca Avenue school. Since the American Bankers Association Education Foundation’s National Teach Children to Save Day began in 1997, thousands of bankers have taught money skills to more than one million students.
