Hundreds of bicyclists took a Sunday spin through Queens during the annual Tour de Queens event on July 6. Organized by Transportation Alternatives, the 20-mile ride began at Flushing Meadows Corona Park and wound its way through northeast Queens neighborhoods including Flushing, Murray Hill, Auburndale, Bayside, Bay Terrace, Beechurst and Whitestone. Proceeds raised during the leisurely tour will support Transportation Alternatives’ various programs to promote safer streets and improved public transportation citywide. Shown are participants beginning their journey at Flushing Meadows, with the New York State Pavilion off in the distance.
