Police precincts across New Yok City participated in the National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, Aug. 6, a nationwide effort aimed at bringing law enforcement agencies closer to the communities they serve. The local Night Out events feature a carnival-like atmosphere, with free food, rides and games for children. Members of the public also got a chance to meet with local police, learn crime prevention tips and various law enforcement programs. Local elected officials also stopped by to meet and greet residents. Shown on these pages are (Photo 1) the 106th Precinct Night Out at P.O.
