Katz Sings for Summer Concert

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz is pictured singing “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess during the 16th Annual Great Lawn Summer Concert held Wednesday night, July 30, on the Fresh Meadows campus of St. John’s University. The concert featured Willie Martinez and the La Familia Sextet, with members of the Queens Symphony Orchestra (QSO) conducted by Constantine Kitsopolous, its music director. In addition to singing Katz was the guest conductor for “Stars and Stripes Forever.” More than 1,000 people attended the free concert.
