Flames gutted a Bushwick apartment house and damaged a neighboring home during a three-alarm fire last Saturday, Sept. 20, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the inferno ignited at about 6 p.m. in the vicinity of Putnam and Bushwick avenues. According to sources, the flames broke out on all floors of a three-story residence, then extended to an adjoining structure. More than 50 Fire Department units responded to the scene along with EMS units and the 83rd Precinct. There were no reported injuries. Five hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the inferno under control, it was noted.
