Sicily, he was the beloved husband of Theresa Miceli, devoted father of Gina, Melissa and Anthony and
father-in-law of Shea, Mike and Silvana; fond grandfather of Anthony and Robert and a loving brother,
brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the
Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village,
under the direction of Seneca Chapels, 494 Seneca Ave., Ridgewood.

AMELIA KERAS died on Friday, August 29, at the age of 97. She was the wife of the late Michael
Keras; loving mother of Michael S. Keras; cherished grandmother of Susan and Richard Kennedy,
Melissa and Joseph Donaghy and Shirley and the late Gregory Keras; great-grandmother of Gregory,
Mariah, Kimberly, Danny, Lauren, David, Matthew, Rebecca, Zoey Arielle and the late Desiree and dear
great-great-grandmother of Daniel Michael and Margot Violet. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered
on Saturday, August 30, at Transfiguration Church, Maspeth, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery,

MARTHA G. WALDVOGEL of Glendale died on Saturday, August 30, at the age of 89. A native of
Brooklyn, she was the beloved wife of Rev. Gordon Waldvogel, devoted mother of Phillip Waldvogel,
JanetWaldvogel, Ruth Waldvogel and the late David Waldvogel and dear sister of Dorothy Ohi and John
Ohi. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Along with her husband,
she faithfully served at the Williamsburg Pentecostal Church for 65 years. Services were offered at
Williamsburg Pentecostal Church, followed by interment at Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens, under
the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

ION ALEXE of Stony Point, N.Y. died on Saturday, August 30, at the
age of 79. A native of Tataru, Romaia, he was the beloved husband of
Maria, devoted father of Luminita Hellmann and dear brother of Tudor
Alexe and Ecaterina Stan. He is also survived by one grandchild.
Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels,
663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, by Rev. Viorel Dimitrescu, followed

ELIZABETH DEKERCADO (nee SCHIEBELHUTH) of Glendale
died on Sunday, August 31, at the age of 89. She was the beloved
mother and mother-in-law of Florence and Robert Terdeman and
devoted grandmother of Michael and Jessica. She was a long-time
employee of F.W. Woolworth’s Glendale store. A Mass of Christian
Burial was offered at St. Pancras Church, Glendale, under the direction
of Schwille Funeral Home, 66-32 Myrtle Ave., Glendale.
