Praising Lawmaker for Serving Vets

Dear Editor:

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to meet with New York City Councilman Eric Ulrich at the VFW’s annual county picnic in Broad Channel. Eric discussed his plans for New York’s veterans as chairman of the Council’s Veterans Committee with us.

I was happy to learn that Eric now has a full time VA accredited Service Officer on his staff. This is a huge win for the veterans of Queens. When a veteran goes to Eric’s office for assistance they will also be able to file a claim for compensation due to injuries and illness sustained on active duty.

Eric is off to a great start as chairman of the Veterans Committee. On behalf of VFW Queens County Commander Ryan Graham and the veterans of Queens I wish to extended our appreciation for Eric’s efforts on our behalf. I challenge all City Council members to follow Eric’s lead and provide the same service for veterans in their districts.

Thanks again Eric, you definitely got this one right and we appreciate it.

Marvin R. Jeffcoat, Chairman

Queens County Council

VFW Legislative Committee
