Corps By QNS Editorial Posted on September 25, 2014 Sign up for our QNS email newsletter to get news, updates, and local insights delivered straight to your inbox! Hoping to keep the neighborhood volunteer ambulance corps alive, the Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association (WRBA) cooked up a fund-raising pasta dinner last Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Emanuel United Church of Christ. Hundreds turned out to enjoy fine Italian fare and entertainment. All proceeds benefited the Woodhaven-Richmond Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps (WRHVAC), which fell on hard times after their Jamaica Avenue headquarters was damaged and closed following the partial collapse of a neighboring building in April 2013. Among those on hand for the event are (from left to right) State Sen. Joseph Addabbo; Frank Tranchina; Walter Steffens; City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley; Angelo A. DiGangi; Kathy Dalbey of the WRHVAC; Assemblyman Mike Miller; City Council Member Eric Ulrich; and former WRBA President Ed Wendell.
