Man killed in Astoria Park: NYPD

Astoria- A 42-year-old man was shot and killed inside Astoria Park Saturday, the police said.

The victim was discovered at about 2:30 p.m. lying on the ground near the park’s pool, authorities said. The NYPD said the victim was shot once in the head.

Paramedics rushed the man to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police did not release the name of the victim pending family notification.

Cops were investigating the shooting.
