March 3, 2016 Staff Report
Yum Yum, a popular Thai restaurant that has been in Sunnyside since 2010, has been temporarily closed by the Health Dept.
The closure represents the second time in two weeks that the Health Dept has closed one of Sunnyside’s Thai restaurants.
Dee Thai was temporarily shut in mid February but has since reopened.
Yum Yum, located at 43-01 Queens Blvd, had a sign placed in its window this morning that read: “We are closed for 2 days” and “Sorry for the inconvenience.” The standard poster/sticker issued by the Health Dept. that notes that a restaurant has been temporarily closed down was not on display.
However, according to the Health Department website, the restaurant was closed on Feb. 29 based on the following violations:

3) Food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.
