Man is brain-dead after drunkenly walking into a pole in Woodside

A 22-year-old man is brain-dead after drunkenly walking into a pole in Woodside on Sunday, according to published reports.

Jayson Kim entered his Woodside friend’s home at about 2:30 p.m. on June 12 while intoxicated and left shortly after at about 4:15 a.m., according to the Daily News.

He started yelling and screaming before walking headfirst into a light pole at 61st Street and Broadway, police sources told the Daily News.

Kim’s friend called 911 and he was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital. Kim suffered a severe head injury and as of Monday was brain-dead.
