The Hayden, a 50-story luxury apartment building in Long Island City, is the largest “80/20” project outside of Manhattan and the 20 percent of apartments considered affordable housing are up for grabs.
Located at 43-25 Hunter St., the 970,000-square-foot building consists of 974 units and 195 are available through an affordable housing lottery.
There are 70 studio apartments, 91 one-bedroom and 34 two-bedroom apartments available. Rent costs $913, $980 and $1,138, respectively.
The deadline to apply is Nov. 30 and about 50 percent of the affordable apartments will go to residents of Community Board 2, which spans Long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside. The annual income range for potential residents is $32,640 to $54,360.
Amenities include a fitness center, yoga studio, basketball court, billiard room, Zen garden, screening room, rooftop solarium, children’s playroom, library and great lawn.
Rockrose Development Corp. is developing the property. They’re also responsible for several other large projects in the neighborhood including the 709-unit Linc LIC , an apartment complex at 47-05 Center Blvd. and an upcoming 54-story project at 43-22 Queens St.
The Hayden is the fourth tallest building in Queens and is eclipsed only by the Citi Building, the 58-story building at 42-12 28th St. and Rockrose’s project at 43-22 Queens St.
