In yet another sign of the surging Ridgewood real estate market, one developer is looking to build a 15-unit apartment house on the former site of an electrician’s office in the neighborhood.

The Department of Buildings received on Wednesday, Dec. 14, plans from Epoch Property LLC to construct the new five-story structure at 455 Onderdonk Ave. near Himrod Street, according to New York YIMBY. Demolition permits for the existing structure have yet to be secured.

Designed by the Indesign Studio architectural firm in Flushing, the proposed structure will be 50 feet tall and encompass 16,381 square feet of living space. Each unit averages to about 671 square feet; the plans do not specify how many bedrooms will be in each apartment. The plans also include a ground floor garage with nine parking spots.

Epoch Property LLC, based in Jericho, Long Island, purchased the site in February for just over $1 million, according to PropertyShark. It was most recently the headquarters of Salvatore Campisi & Sons electrical contractors, which has relocated to Decatur Street in Ridgewood.

The Onderdonk Avenue site is a four-block walk from Grover Cleveland High School and less than a half-mile away from Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, the DeKalb Avenue L train station and the Seneca Avenue M train stop.
