Police are still looking for the driver of an SUV that struck and critically injured a 76-year-old man as he biked along a Flushing street on Friday afternoon.
Authorities said the hit-and-run crash took place at 5:30 p.m. on March 3 at the corner of Elder Avenue and Colden Street.
According to law enforcement sources, the 76-year-old man was pedaling his bicycle northbound on Colden Street when he was hit by a teal Honda CRV traveling through the intersection. Despite striking the man, police said, the vehicle did not stop; it was last seen heading turning southbound on Kissena Boulevard at Franklin Avenue.
Officers from the 109th Precinct and EMS units responded to the incident. The bicyclist, who suffered head trauma, was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens hospital in critical condition.
The NYPD released video of the SUV involved in the crash.
