Restaurants from the “World’s Borough” gathered at the Hall of Science in Corona on May 2 to show off their eclectic eats to a room full of hungry patrons.
Queens Taste, hosted by the Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC), featured dozens of food and drink vendors serving everything from ribs to homemade Italian ices. The event highlighted the international cuisine that Queens is known for and attendees munched on Indian, Greek, Italian, Thai, Japanese, American food and more.
Popular establishments such as Fairway, Bareburger and The Astor Room attended as well as restaurants and bakeries like Mahalo New York Bakery, Kingza, Mamita’s and Kurry Qulture in Astoria.
Beverage purveyors such as Queens Courage, Coney Island Brewery and Bruce Cost Ginger Ale were also present. Tickets for the event were $125 and the money is being used by QEDC to attract, create and maintain jobs in Queens.
Resorts World Casino also donated 50,000 to the organization to fund their Start UP Business Plan Competition, which awards $10,000 to a Queens resident with the best business plan.
