A pair of perpetrators trying to make off with stolen car parts were cuffed in College Point this week, according to authorities.

On Sept. 18 at around 3 a.m., Woodhaven resident Steven Perez, 28, and Brooklyn resident Jose Borbon, 22, were discovered at 5th Avenue and College Place removing car parts from nearby vehicles, police said.

The pair were found to be in possession of burglar tools and numerous tires and rims and placed under arrest by officers from the 109th Precinct.

Perez and Borbon face charges including grand larceny, criminal mischief, unauthorized use of a vehicle and auto stripping.

Inspector Judith Harrison, commanding officer of the 109th Precinct, took to Twitter to report the arrest.
