A man who was shot in the head at an East Elmhurst home succumbed to his injuries on Thursday night, police said.
The man, 25-year-old Karron Alston, was found unconscious and unresponsive in an alley at 31st Avenue and 95th Street on Oct. 12 at about 9:50 p.m. According to police, Alston lived in an apartment on Halleck Street in the Bronx.
Police found a gunshot wound to his head and upper torso. The victim was escorted to Elmhurst General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to the Daily News, Alston had gotten into a fight with a group of men and was winning the fight until one of the men pulled a gun. After initially fleeing, the suspect came back to the scene to retrieve his sandals, the Daily News reported.
Alston has been arrested 12 times for marijuana possession, one robbery and in several cases for assault, police said.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
