Queens residents can safely recycle their old, broken or unused electronics at an event in Douglaston this weekend.
On Oct. 28, Saint Anastasia Church will serve as an electronics drop-off location between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The event will take place rain or shine.
Accepted materials include working and non-working computers, monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, computer mice, televisions, VCRs, DVD players, phones, cell phones and audio/visual equipment.
St. Anastasia Church is located at 45-14 245th St. The drop-off will be set up in the parking lot on Alameda Avenue.
E-waste recycling has been required by New York State law since Jan. 1, 2015, making it illegal to discard electronics in the trash.
The Lower East Side Ecology Center is the event organizer. For more information, contact the organization at 212-477-4022 or visit their website. For a list of frequently asked questions, click here.
The collection event is hosted by St. Anastasia Church, Friends of the Little Neck-Douglaston Library and Home NY.
