Tickets to the 2018 Winter Classic at Citi Field went on sale to the general public on Oct. 12. Beginning at 10 a.m., fans can visit this webpage for full ticket pricing, seating charts and purchase options.
The annual outdoor game is slated to take place on Jan. 1. For the event, a hockey rink will be set up at the baseball stadium between first and third base, towards center field.
New York Rangers captain and defenseman Ryan McDonagh and left winger Rick Nash met with Buffalo Sabres players at Citi Field on Sept. 8 to talk about the upcoming game.
The New Year’s Day game will be broadcast live on NBC, Sportsnet in Canada and TVA Sports at 1 p.m Eastern time. It’s the second time that the Rangers and Sabres have participated in the Winter Classic, but it’s the first outdoor meeting between the two franchises.
The league’s tradition of hosting a regular-season outdoor game at the onset of the new year began in 2008. This year’s event will mark the 10th anniversary.
