The Ridgewood YMCA will be honoring a local police officer during their annual Taste of Ridgewood event later this month.

On Thursday, Nov. 30, more than 20 local restaurants representing the borough’s diverse cultures will bring a sample of their menus for attendees to try throughout the night at the Taste of Ridgewood event at the Ridgewood YMCA located at 69-02 64th St.

During the event, the Ridgewood YMCA will honor Police Officer Charles Sadler, community affairs officer for the 104th Precinct, for his service and dedication to the community. The event’s keynote speaker will be Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan.

Along with samplings of delicious foods and live musical entertainment, attendees will get to bid on several raffle prizes, including framed artwork, wine baskets, tickets to wine tastings, gift certificates, autographed New York Knicks gear and much more. All proceeds from the event will go to the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, which provides financial assistance to children and families to ensure that no one is turned away from YMCA services due to lack of funds.

Taste of Ridgewood will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 30, at the Ridgewood YMCA where valet parking will be available.

Tickets are available online and at the door on the night of the event.
