Police are offering a reward for information that would lead to an arrest of a second suspect who attacked a man in his Sunnyside home last month.

According to police, at 4:10 p.m. on April 25, a 37-year-old man was sitting in the kitchen at his home, located at 43-06 45th St., when he was attacked by his cousin, 18-year-old Ethan Garcia and another unknown individual.

Law enforcement sources said that Garcia allegedly proceeded to punch his cousin in the face and cut the back of his head with a knife. The second suspect fled the scene.

Garcia was arrested later that same day when he returned to his cousin’s home. He was charged with assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment. The second suspect remains at large.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the second suspect.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts are urged to call 800-577-8477 (TIPS). All calls and messages are kept confidential.
