Police officers found and pulled a dead woman from the Flushing River in an industrial section of Flushing on Friday morning.

At 10 a.m. on Aug. 10, officers from the 109th Precinct responded to a 911 call about a body in the river located adjacent to the intersection of College Point Boulevard and 34th Avenue. She was located across the way from a concrete milling plant.

Upon arriving at the scene, the responding officers spotted the woman unconscious and unresponsive in the waterway. Members of the NYPD Harbor Unit, also dispatched to the location, recovered the woman and brought her to shore, where she was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Police do not know the identity or the age of the woman, whose body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

It’s the second grisly discovery in the waters off Flushing and College Point in as many days. On Aug. 9, cops found a man’s body floating in Powell’s Cove near the College Point Yacht Club. The investigation into that case is also ongoing.
