Jet Way, an established security company at JFK Airport since 2006 held its employee day in front of their building office at JFK Airport. It was a beautiful mid-September day where employees gathered to a wide variety of barbecue foods, a DJ, ice-cream ,and many raffle prizes.
Founders of the company mixed with the workers and their families. The veteran security founder of the group, Joe Sito shared the history of the company as well as a little about himself. Joe had been a player, that is, a baseball player for the National Negro Baseball League when discrimination was rampant in sports. But he managed to play a bit on the Boston B’s and the Orioles before being drafted. When back from the service too old to play at 24 years old, he worked at Pinkerton, then at Lansdale Security, both of which went out of business. Then he and his partners started Jet Way which now provides aviation services such as passenger handling, cargo and ramp support, security guards, audits and investigations and the latest in smart technology.
But the day belonged to the happy employees who had a chance to gossip , enjoy home made chicken and beef sit in the sun or cool shade and enjoy the fruits of their daily labors. Interested in working for them? email: info@
