Police look for motorist who struck 82-year-old woman in Woodside last month

Police are still searching for an unidentified man who backed his SUV into an 82-year-old woman in Woodside last month before leaving the scene.

According to law enforcement sources, the motorist was driving his Acura SUV in reverse on 57th Street when he struck the woman as she was crossing Woodside Avenue around 1 p.m. on Sept. 1.

Authorities said the victim was knocked to the pavement and suffered injuries to the face and left hand. The man then drove off westbound on 57th Street without reporting the incident to the authorities.

Paramedics brought the woman to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where she was listed in stable condition.

Cops described the suspect as an Asian man in his mid-40s with black hair. He was last seen wearing black pants and a white shirt.
