Celebrate the official start of fall with these events over the weekend!

GET TESTED AND VACCINATED

To slow the spread of COVID-19, the New York City Department of Health suggests getting tested often. Here is where you can find several places in Queens to get tested this weekend:

Saturday, Sept. 24

Saturday at the Bay

Guardians of Flushing Bay is hosting a fundraising event at the Flushing Meadows Corona Park public boat launch to help connect the community and enforce the importance of stewarding Flushing waterways. Filled with dragon boating, food from Vietnamese restaurant Nha Minh, and tours with geographers and wetland experts, their goal is to connect communities separated from geographic barriers. The event runs from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. and will be held at the Kayak/ Canoe Launch section of the park.

Kellogg’s Youth Clinic with NYC Football Club

Kellogg’s and NYCFC will be hosting a youth clinic at the Elmhurst Educational Campus helping kids ages 5-16 years olds better their soccer skills on the field.

Each session will be for a specified age group.

5-7 year olds from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

8-10 year olds from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

11-13 year olds from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

14-16-year-olds and from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Love & Unity Fall Festival

Begin Autumn at Kissena Corridor Park with live performances, entertainment, arts & crafts, and much more! Sponsored by NYC council member Sandra Ung, Department of Parks, Glow Cultural Center and many more, the event will run from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. at 47-67 Colden Street. Attendees who book a ticket on Eventbrite can exchange it in turn for a prize at the GCC booth. Sunday, Sept. 25

Bell Blvd Sunday Stroll

Bayside Village has something exciting for everyone! Explore flower arranging, group dances, magic and bubble performers, face painting, silly challenges, and more all for free. There will also be restaurants serving brunch and drink specials for that day. Enjoy music from Bayside natives, Kriazias Band specializing in Greek music and dancing, Chickenhead covering Rolling Stones, Doors, Cream and other rock hits, and Skeedle Brothers with the harmonies. The event runs from 38th to 42nd Ave Bell Blvd and between 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Astoria Filmmaker’s Karaoke Party

Celebrate the Third Year Anniversary Karaoke Party with raffles, music, games, and more, hosted by vegan Latin restaurant Savage at 37 – 10 31st Ave. Patrons can support Astoria’s Filmmaker’s Club by donating on Flipcause or texting AFC to 646-681-2810. 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
