Planet Fitness showed off its new Fresh Meadows location featuring state-of-the-art equipment on Thursday, July 6.
Among some of the notable individuals on hand to celebrate the grand opening of the new location at 6109 190th St. were Assemblywoman Nily Rozic, Supreme Fitness Group Vice President of Marketing Dale Paden, Boys and Girls Club of Metro Queens Development Coordinator Vanessa Carter, Supreme Fitness Group Manager Brittany Bennett and Brandon Leavy and George Hadjiconstantinou of the Queens Chamber of Commerce.
This group was presented with a tour of the new 20,000-square-foot facility, where they got to see many of its features, including state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment, the Planet Fitness 30-Minute Express Circuit, a fully equipped spa and much more. Some of the exercise machines are also equipped with flat screen televisions for patrons to watch while they work out.
As part of the grand opening celebration, Planet Fitness also presented a $1,000 check to the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Queens. Additionally, as a way of welcoming its members, the club offered complementary donuts, courtesy of Duck Donuts, as well as various swag including water bottles and tote bags. Visitors also had the opportunity to play cornhole outside the club.
“We’re very excited to be able to bring affordable health and wellness physical option to Fresh Meadows,” Paden said. “There’s been a very good turnout. Everyone’s very excited to welcome us. The response has been fantastic leading up to the opening.”
According to Paden, construction of this site lasted approximately six months. He also mentioned that Supreme Fitness is currently in the process of looking to add more Planet Fitness locations across the borough of Queens, although it is currently too soon to say where some of the next locations will be.
New Planet Fitness members can currently join this club online or at the location for $1 down and $10 a month.
