A for-hire driver was beaten and robbed by three passengers alongside the Long Island Expressway near LeFrak City earlier this month, according to the NYPD.

Police say the 22-year-old victim began arguing with the two of his female passengers at around 5:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, when he pulled over in front of 99-49 Horace Harding Expressway in Corona. The dispute escalated into violence as the women punched and kicked the driver multiple times. The third passenger, an unknown man, joined in the beating and all three, acting in concert, removed the victim’s car keys and attempted to take his vehicle but they were unsuccessful, according to authorities.

The crooks proceeded to damage the vehicle’s window and dashcam and snatched the victim’s wallet before running off on foot westbound along the Horace Harding Expressway toward LeFrak City.

The NYPD released surveillance photos of the suspects on Aug. 19.
