Queens Council Member Sandra Ung recently visited P.S. 162 in Fresh Meadows to attend the school’s first assembly of the year, during which she announced that she has successfully secured $162,000 in this year’s budget, which will be used for technology upgrades at the school.

In the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, Ung secured more than $4.5 million for schools in her district, which includes the neighborhoods of Flushing, Mitchell-Linden, Murray Hill, Queensboro Hill and Fresh Meadows.

“I can think of no better way to invest in the future of our community and the rest of New York City than by investing in our children’s education,” said Ung. “These boys and girls are the future leaders of this city, and we need to ensure that they have the tools to succeed. I am proud that during my first two years in office I have been able to deliver over $9.5 million to District 20 schools.”
