Queens Community Board 5—which represents Ridgewood, Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale—plans to hold its first monthly meeting of 2024 at Christ the King High School in Middle Village on Wednesday, Jan. 10.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. at 68-02 Metropolitan Ave. and open with a public comment period.

Anyone wishing to speak to the board during the public forum portion of the night is asked to pre-register. To pre-register, prospective participants are advised to call CB 5 at 718-366-1834 or email at qn05@cb.nyc.gov.

CB 5 Chair Vincent Arcuri Jr. is scheduled to give his monthly report. The report includes a reading of the minutes from December’s board meeting, a review of applications for the sale of alcoholic beverages and cannabis, and a review of building demolition notices.

Following the chairperson’s report is a report from District Manager Gary Giordano.

The leader of each board committee will also provide a rundown of what has been happening in the district following Giordano. The committees include the Liquor License and Cannabis Committee; Zoning and Land Use Review Committee; Public Safety Services Committee; Transportation Services Committee, and Public Transit Services.

The board will conclude the meeting with a discussion on old and new business.

The CB 5 meeting will be live-streamed on YouTube and posted on the CB 5 homepage.
