Teen subjected to public lewdness aboard 7 train Wednesday, perp remains at large: NYPD

Police from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst and Transit District 20 are looking for a creep who exposed himself to a 7 train rider while she was aboard a Flushing-bound car approaching the Mets-Willets Point station on the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 21.

The incident occurred at around 7 p.m., when a stranger allegedly exposed his genitals to the 19-year-old victim and performed a lewd act in front of the teenager, police said. The young woman was not injured as a result of the encounter.

The NYPD released surveillance video on Thursday that shows the suspect waiting on the 7 train platform. The video describes him as having a medium complexion and a thin build, estimated to be in his 20s. He wore a black t-shirt with a white “Scream” graphic on the front, a black baseball cap, black sweatpants and black sneakers. He also wore white earbuds and a black tote bag slung over his shoulder.

Through Aug. 18, the 110th Precinct has reported 92 sex crimes so far in 2024, six more than the 86 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 7%, according to the most recent CompStat report. Transit crimes are also up in the precinct with 34 reported so far this year, three more than the 31 reported at the same point in 2023, an increase of 9.7%, according to CompStat.
