A longtime Forest Hills staple is closing its doors after three decades of service. Boris Production, located at 64-49 108th St., has officially announced it will cease operations.
In a farewell gesture to the neighborhood, the shop has launched a store closing sale, offering 50% off all in-stock merchandise. With the message “Everything must go,” the business is inviting longtime patrons and new customers alike to stop in for a final visit.
For 30 years, Boris Production has been a trusted destination for video duplication services, helping residents preserve memories by converting VHS tapes and other outdated formats into more durable, modern media. The store became a go-to resource for families safeguarding home videos, wedding footage, and other cherished recordings.

But Boris Production grew into much more than a media transfer shop. Over the years, it expanded into a multi-purpose business that sold and bought vinyl records, offered custom framing services, carried a wide range of toys, and stocked a unique collection of Russian children’s books. The store’s eclectic offerings made it a one-of-a-kind destination in Forest Hills, attracting both families and collectors.

The announcement of its closure has sparked an emotional response on social media, where customers shared their appreciation and memories.
“Thank you for your many years of serving the community,” one commenter wrote. Another said, “It’s very sad to see you closing the store and leaving. It was the best time. And thank you!” One post simply read: “End of an era.”

The business posted that “everything must go” as part of its closing sale, now underway.
Boris Production’s current hours of operation are:
Monday – Closed
Tuesday to Thursday – 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday – 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

As the store prepares to shut its doors, the owners are encouraging the community to stop by, enjoy steep discounts and share one last moment with a shop that has played a lasting role in Forest Hills life.
