In Coronary Care

The New Parkway Hospital was recently recognized by the Alliance for Quality Health Care for its accomplishments in treating heart attacks.
The survey ranked hospitals in the state in various categories based on success rates for common problems.
“Amongst New York City Hospitals in the category of heart attack, Parkway was rated number three citywide in terms of positive outcome,” said Frederick Stewart, Parkway's Vice President/Marketing New Business Development. “(It was also) the only hospital in Queens to even make it into that category.”
According to Stewart this accomplishment is due to a combination of Parkway's cardiology team, which is headed by Dr. Michele Nanna, and the hospital's emergency room personnel, who EMS has reported as having the best turnaround time in Queens for six months running.
“Everybody was very, very delighted that we made this,” Stewart said.
