Jim Boyle

General Manager of
The Shops at Atlas Park

The Shops at Atlas Park, the lifestyle retail center in Glendale, recently appointed Jim Boyle as its General Manager. Boyle will be managing retail operations, customer service, environmental issues, directing security, working with merchants on recruitment, and getting involved with the community.
“I thought it was a one of a kind project the first moment I walked onto the property,” said Boyle, who began the job on August 6. He said that the Shops at Atlas Park is different than anywhere he’s worked before; that it’s a unique setting with local flavor.
Boyle graduated from Rider University in 1981 with a major in speech communications and journalism and a minor in history. He did not expect to be in his current business but shortly after he graduated, he had the opportunity to enter the field.
In the early ’80s, he began working at The Rouse Company where he directed the marketing strategy of eight properties. In 1998, he worked as the General Manager of Airport Retail at Westfield Concession Management, Inc. It was there that Boyle led the marketing, operations, redevelopment and management of Continental Airlines Terminal at Newark Liberty International Airport. This resulted in the addition of 104 new restaurants and stores and earned 18 industry awards.
In the last two years, he was the General Manager of the Gordon’s Group project, The Pier Shops at Caesars on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. He built an operations plan and a management team and the project opened in summer 2006.
Within these projects, Boyle has been involved in community service efforts for breast cancer awareness, muscular dystrophy awareness and pet adoption. He also supports community performing arts groups, helping them get exposure in non-traditional settings.
Boyle, 50, lives with his wife of 26 years, Bridget, and his three children, Jimmy, 13, Elizabeth, 8, and John, 6, in Marlton, New Jersey. He won the Maxi award for excellence in shopping center marketing in 1988 as well as several other industry citations.
