Confrontation over money turns deadly

A 22-year-old Richmond Hill man has been arrested and charged for allegedly strangling a man he thought stole rent money from friends.
Police were called to an apartment on the first floor of 117-15 124th Street on Saturday, August 16. When they arrived they discovered the victim, Rae Chisolm, 39, unconscious. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Reports claim that the suspect, Rami Hawana, 22, and two others confronted Chisolm about taking money. Hawana allegedly delivered the fatal stroke. He has been charged with murder in the second degree.
