New York’s chapter of the National Federal of Independent Business (NFIB) recently honored State Senator Frank Padavan for his support of small businesses throughout the state by recognizing him as a 2008 “Guardian of Small Business.”
The NFIB, which is one of the country’s leading small business associations, recognized Padavan for his 100 percent voting record with NFIB during the past two years.
“Senator Padavan has long been a friend of New York’s small business owners, job creators and entrepreneurs, fighting for tax relief, more affordable health insurance and regulatory reform,” said Mike Elmendorf, New York State Director of the NFIB. “He has been a consistent voice in favor of measures to lower New York’s cost of doing business - the second highest in the nation - and has remained steadfast against legislation that would harm small business and further weaken New York’s economy.”
Padavan said that small businesses are the backbone of the state and city economy so he was honored by this recognition.
“To keep small business going in the right direction is not only good for the economy and the employment, but I also think it is good for the community,” he said.
