OAKLAND GARDENS – Councilmember Mark Weprin is initiating an annual “Councilmember for a Day” essay contest for students in grades 5-8 for those interested in responding to the following: Describe in detail a day in your life if you were Mayor of New York City. The winner will travel to City Hall, accompanied by a parent or guardian, meet with colleagues, sit for an interview with a reporter and review constituent concerns. Each entry should include the student’s full name, address, telephone number, school, grade and class. Entries should be submitted by October 22 to the Councilmember at 73-03 Bell Boulevard, Oakland Gardens, New York, 11364 or to MWeprin@council.nyc.gov.
