Attention to detail builds great fences

At Olympic Fence, customers not only get a perfect enclosure, but they are linked and treated like family right from the start.

“Our mission at Olympic Fence is to give our customers the best job possible using the highest grade materials, customer service and helpful advice,” said general manager Michael Costanza. “We try to save people money where we can.”

Located at 100-35 Atlantic Avenue in Richmond Hill, the family-owned business offers Bufftech Vinyl products, vinyl fencing, and other fence types including PVC picket fences, railings and gates, commercial and residential chain link, aluminum fences, and powder coated iron fences.

Costanza said Olympic Fence has been serving all five boroughs for more than 30 years and called it “one big family.” When asked what sets Olympic Fence apart from other competitors, Costanza said that, in addition to the products they offer and the attention to detail, their customers will always feel secure.

“I think we care more than some of the other bigger companies. I always tell people never hesitate to call if they have a question or problem before or after a job is done,” he said. “They will always get a family member, not a salesman or laborer.”

Additionally, Costanza said Olympic Fence stays true to appointments and contracted jobs. For example, he said “we do not give you a six-hour period for an appointment.” He also said that, compared to their competition, the work of Olympic Fence is highly evident throughout the years.

“When you compare our jobs over time to our competition you’ll see the difference in our material and quality of work,” he said. “Everything looks good in the beginning, but how will it look in five years from now standing up against the elements?”

Costanza said that Olympic Fence’s prospects and standards are just as high as the fences they build.

“It’s hard to find good people who like to do this kind of work. Many people have tried to work for us from other companies but never last because they say we are meticulous,” he said. “Sometimes keeping things small is the best [for us and the customer].”
