First VLTs delivered to Resorts World

Listen closely and you can almost hear the bells and whistles signaling a jackpot – you can also hear the less-than-lucky cursing the one-armed bandit.
The first of 4,525 Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) were delivered to Resorts World Casino New York City, formally the Aqueduct Racino, in South Ozone Park.
During the next few weeks, the VLTs will be installed and individually tested on the gaming floor. When phase one of casino opens this October, it will boast 2,280 VLTs, along with entertainment and a vast array of dining options. The second phase will open by the end of the year, with an additional 2,245 VLTs, as well as even more dining options.
Michael Speller, president of Resorts World Casino New York City, said that he has been anticipating the arrival of these machines all summer and that gamers in Queens will benefit greatly from everything Resorts World will eventually offer.
“This is an exciting development; we are on the path toward creating a world-class entertainment destination,” said Speller. “The VLTs, which are a cornerstone of our casino, have been in our mind’s eye for nearly a year and we are happy that the public will soon share our vision. We are in the final stage and are thrilled that Resorts World Casino New York City will welcome its guests to an optimum experience.”
