As of May 1, 2011, Milo became Vice President of Brooklyn/Queens Electric Operations. He’s responsible for the maintenance and construction of the underground and overhead electric distribution system in the Brooklyn/Queens region for Con Edison. This Includes new business, system reinforcement and environmental & safety compliance programs. Milo also leads a workforce of 1500 employees and contractors and oversees a budget of $425 million.
Milo joined Con Edison in 1991 as a Management Intern. He has held various positions with increasing responsibilities including General Manager, System Operation; General Manager, Substation Operations-Northern region; Section Manager, Substation Operations Center; District Operator, System Operation; and Supervisor, Transmission Operations. In 2009, Milo was appointed Vice President of System and Transmission Operations; he was responsible for the development of long-term plans for the electric bulk transmission system; the installation and maintenance of the Company’s transmission system; and the safe, reliable and economic operations of the electric transmission, distribution, and steam system.
Milo serves on the executive board of the YMCA Bedford Stuyvesant Chapter, the executive board and executive committee of the New Yorkers for Parks and a leadership council member of the City College of New York Grove School of Engineering. He holds a MBA from St. John’s University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the City University of New York. He completed the Senior Executive Program at Columbia University and the PTI Power Technology course and is licensed as a System Operator by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). He received the Harlem YMCA Black Achiever Award in 2004.
