HOWARD BEACH — Firefighters responded to a large brush fire Sunday that took more than 100 of the city’s Bravest to tame.
Just after 5:30 p.m., units received reports of a blaze, at 159-3 78th St., which was shortly upgraded to a second-alarm-fire, according to the FDNY.
More than 25 units and about 106 firefighters, including some specially trained in combating brush fires, responded to the scene and quelled the blaze in about an hour, according to the FDNY.
