Police Officer Frank Calafiore was honored as the 106th Precinct Community Council’s May Cop of the Month.
Calafiore, part of the anti-crime unit, was cited for the April 11 arrest of a suspect and for recovering narcotics and a loaded firearm.
The suspect, 18, followed a woman to her South Ozone Park home and pointed a gun at her, according to Deputy Inspector Thomas Pascale.
Calafiore and other officers from the unit then followed the suspect into a nearby home. Inside, police found five people, Pascale said, and detained them while cops searched the house. A loaded 9-mm. gun and marijuana were recovered. Calafiore then obtained a search warrant and recovered 200 Xanax pills.
