Still looking for a place to go to watch the Super Bowl? With Feb. 2 quickly approaching, the time to make that decision is now. Here is a list of different hot spots around Queens where you can go on Game Day.
Buffalo Wild Wings (Forest Hills):
This new venue is equipped with 89 different televisions, ranging from 60” to 80”, as well as two projector screens, for your viewing pleasure. They will operate on a first-come, first-served basis for the Super Bowl. You can visit them at www.buffalowildwings.com.
Austin’s Ale House (Kew Gardens):
This bar has one of the best Super Bowl deals in Queens. For $50 you get microdrafts, bottled beers, or top shelf cocktails (not shots or cordials), along with a halftime buffet. O’Neill’s Restaurant (Maspeth):
Yes, the famous O’Neill’s of Maspeth has re-opened. With its 60” HD flat screen televisions and top-quality sound system, one can only imagine how great the atmosphere will be. There will also be a VIP party room where, for $125 each, you and your party get a five-hour open bar, choice of appetizers, and a sit down dinner. Call O’Neill’s at 718-672-9696.
Bar 43 (Sunnyside):
Known for its atomic wings, Bar 43 is always a hot spot. This Sunnyside establishment has a perfect setup for a smaller crowd of Super Bowl viewers, with its 11 televisions and projector screen. You can find more about them at www.bar43.com.
Katch (Astoria):
For the Super Bowl, Katch is planning to open up it newly renovated outdoor heated section. Now patrons will be able to watch the game in heated tents outside, while enjoying a BBQ and pig roast. C.J. Sullivan’s (Bayside):
$12 Bud Light pitchers are a special for the Super Bowl. While you’re there you can also enjoy a free buffet at halftime, along with giveaway prizes. There are 5 televisions around the bar and one large one in the dining area. Call them at 718-224-0060.
Bohemian Hall Beer Garden (Astoria):
Super Bowl Sunday is sure to be good at this century-old establishment. There will be no cover charge and a slew of beer specials. Starting at 4 p.m. there will be $8 pitchers of Beck’s Oktoberfest, $10 pitchers of both Hoegaarden and Stella, halftime shot specials, and appetizer specials. Check out more at www.bohemianhall.com.
Z NYC Hotel (Long Island City):
Although Super Bowl XLVIII is taking place in New Jersey, one Queens hotel is offering an “over-the-top” package to make sure you have everything you need for the big game, without leaving the borough.
The Z NYC Hotel, located at 11-01 43rd Avenue in Long Island City, announced it will be offering a SB 48 Package “for a day of football filled with friends, food and fabulous cocktails.”
The group package includes two nights, Saturday February 1 and Sunday, February 2, in a guest room overlooking the Manhattan skyline; a Breakfast of Champions on Super Bowl Sunday in the hotel’s private function space featuring an omelet station, steak and eggs, waffles, french toast, and more; access to the tailgating party on the Z Roof, weather permitting, from 4 p.m. until game time; a private viewing of the game with an open bar, unlimited buffet and VIP waitress service; and Monday morning breakfast in the hotel’s private function space or in the guest room.
The package is a group package fitting 11 guests in total to 11 guest rooms. It costs $22, 159.28 or $2,014.48 per person. The rate does not include tax or gratuity.
For those who do not want to book the package but would still like to have the Breakfast of Champions, the Z NYC Hotel is offering the meal for $25.95 including a pre-set football breakfast and unlimited beer, bloody marys and mimosas.
